USC improved to 2-0 on the season with a shutout victory on Saturday night and then added a commitment from a top-100 defensive player on Sunday morning.
Ty Jackson, a linebacker from Seminole Ridge High School in Loxahatchee, Fla., picked the Trojans over Florida, Georgia, Alabama and many others. Jackson is ranked No. 95 overall in the Class of 2025 in the 247Sports Composite, and he visited USC for its 48-0 win over Utah State on Saturday.
Jackson is the third blue-chip linebacker in the Trojans’ 2025 class, joining Matai Tagoa’i and Jadon Perlotte, who are both top-200 prospects nationally.
The early returns for USC’s new defensive staff have been positive from an on-field perspective. Last night’s shutout was the program’s first since 2011. We’ll see how much that improvement translates to the recruiting trail.
