Uruguay Copa America 2024 squad: Luis Suarez in alongside Ronald Araujo and Darwin Nunez

Inter Miami striker Luis Suarez has been included in Uruguay’s 26-man squad for this summer’s Copa America tournament in the United States.

37-year-old Suarez is Uruguay’s all-time leading scorer with 68 goals in 138 international caps, with Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez also included in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo and Jose Maria Gimenez of Atletico Madrid are also in the squad, with Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur’s Rodrigo Bentancur among the squad.

There are few surprise omissions in Bielsa’s squad, with Lazio midfielder Matias Vecino retiring from international duty in March while there are no places for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Santiago Bueno or Cadiz striker Maxi Gomez.
