Texans CB Kris Boyd shoves special teams coordinator during first quarter vs. Chiefs

The Athletic has live coverage of Texans vs Chiefs  in the AFC divisional round playoffs.

Emotions flared early for the Houston Texans in their AFC divisional round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Broadcast cameras captured Texans cornerback Kris Boyd shoving special teams coordinator Frank Ross following the Chiefs’ opening drive on Saturday.

Boyd was shown shoving Ross as the two shouted at each other after Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s 32-yard field goal. Boyd was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct at the start of the drive for removing his helmet during the game’s opening kickoff.

The penalty set the Chiefs up at Houston’s 13 yard line.

Boyd is in his second season with the Texans and has contributed mostly on special teams this year.
