Coco Chanel launched one of the world’s most famous and recognizeable luxury brands.
Who doesn’t love the look of Chanel?
Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel was one of the most influential fashion icons of all time. And this fall, travelers can get a full dose of her fashions.
The V&A Museum in London is launching The Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto Exhibition Experience, an homage to the famous trendsetter. The exhibit will run from September 16-February 25, and will offer an immersive journey into the world of Coco Chanel, tracing the remarkable story of her fashion empire and the evolution of her iconic design style that continues to shape women’s fashion today. The exhibition covers the opening of her first millinery boutique in Paris in 1910 to the showing of her final collection in 1971 displaying more than 200 looks from Chanel.
A special package to see the exhibit is available through The Kensington Hotel in London. Located within a series of grand 19th-century buildings in South Kensington, The Kensington evokes Victorian fantasies. But there’s nothing stuffy about the 150-room hotel, which is beloved for its cheery service, bright and comfortable rooms, and unbeatable location near the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and V&A.
The Kensington’s Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto Exhibition pacakge offers guests the chance to meander through the exhibit with an un-timed ticket (most tickets have specific timed entry attached, and many of the tickets have already sold out!). Also included is:
1. Full English Breakfast
2. Two tickets to the exhibition
3. For Suite bookings, a special gift of the Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto Coffee Table book. It is available starting September 16, 2023.
Even the Room Service is remarkable at The Kensington.
And here’s a bit more about The Kensington. You can choose between the “Cosy” rooms (perfect for solo travelers at 150 square feet), the classic rooms, or the sumptuous suites, which feature four-poster beds, free-standing tubs, Waterford crystal chandeliers, and balconies overlooking the neighborhood’s wide boulevards. Before heading out to catch a show at the Royal Albert Hall, you can enjoy dinner at the Town House restaurant, a clubby space serving classic fare like dry aged Beef Wellington and fish and chips.
Just don’t eat too much – or you’ll never fit into your Chanel suit.
