Nottingham Forest reach agreement to sign Rodrigo Ribeiro from Sporting Lisbon

Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign forward Rodrigo Ribeiro.

The deal is a loan with an option to buy that could become an obligation. The package would be worth more than £10million and if the transfer becomes permanent, he will sign a six-year deal with the Premier League club.

Forest see him as a recruit for the future and should everything go according to plan, he will fly to Nottingham soon and undergo a medical ahead of the proposed move.

Ribeiro joined Sporting Lisbon’s academy in 2017 from Alfenense.

He signed his first professional contract with the Portuguese side in 2021 and made his senior debut in a 0–0  Champions League tie with Manchester City in 2022.

This season, he has played 10 games in Liga 3 with Sporting’s B team, scoring two goals.

Forest are next in action this Sunday, away to Bournemouth.
