Junior’s, which originated in Brooklyn, is known for its cheesecake.
Iconic Brooklyn-born cheesecake slinger Junior’s has opened a 300-seat outpost at Resorts World Las Vegas.
“I feel like I just won the jackpot,” third-generation Junior’s owner Alan Rosen said in a statement. “I’m so lucky to have been selected by Resorts World to open our first West Coast location inside its property. I hope that both residents and visitors to the city will also feel lucky that they will be able to enjoy the World’s Most Famous Cheesecake, as well as all the delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners, drinks and our other skyscraper desserts.”
Junior’s was founded by Rosen’s grandfather, Harry, who opened the original location in Brooklyn in 1950 and was a big fan of Las Vegas.
“So I know he’d be thrilled that we are opening a location in the city he loved almost as much as New York,” Rosen said.
Along with its beloved cheesecake, the Las Vegas Junior’s offers hearty breakfast selections, including French toast, cheese blintzes, a corned beef omelet and smoked salmon Benedict. For lunch and dinner, there are overstuffed deli sandwiches, 10-ounce steak burgers, jumbo half-pound hot dogs, matzo ball soup, fish-and-chips, barbecue baby-back ribs and chef specialties like Hungarian goulash, chicken Parm, a Romanian tenderloin steak, a brisket platter and roast turkey (with giblet gravy, chestnut stuffing, vegetables, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce) that makes every single day feel like Thanksgiving.
Junior’s serves overstuffed sandwiches like a Reuben.
There’s a full-service bar if you want an aperol spritz or espresso martini with your breakfast. Junior’s is also open late-night, if you’re in the mood for a specialty cocktail after dinner.
And of course, Junior’s has a plethora of cheesecake options, including original, strawberry, carrot, red velvet, devil’s food, cookies-and-cream, brownie and more. Other dessert options include huge “mountain high” ice cream sundaes and cake shakes.
The Las Vegas Junior’s is across from Randy’s Donuts, which is a Los Angeles mainstay. This is part of a Resorts World dining collection that also includes other out-of-town players like Tal Ronnen’s Crossroads Kitchen and Wally’s Wine & Spirits, both of which also originated in LA.
Prominent Los Angeles chef Ray Garcia has Viva at Resorts World alongside other dining destinations like local powerhouse chef Nicole Brisson’s Brezza, Carver Road Hospitality’s Carver Steak, Michelin-starred New York chef’s Shaun Hergatt’s Aqua and the Famous Foods Street Eats food hall (which has outposts of hawker stands from Asia along with Marcus Samuelsson’s Streetbird).
There’s also Genting Palace’s high-end Chinese food as well as Fuhu’s contemporary Asian food in a lively setting next to the Zouk nightclub (where DJs including Tiesto, Zedd and DJ Snake performed during the F1 Vegas weekend that just concluded).
“Our goal is to continue to bring exciting dining experiences for our guests and expand our portfolio with unique concepts that can’t be found anywhere else in the city,” said Bartholomew Mahoney, vice president of food and beverage at Resorts World Las Vegas.
So next summer, Michelin-starred Miami chef Jeremy Ford (who won season 13 of Top Chef) and Grove Bay Hospitality Group will open Stubborn Seed at Resorts World.
