Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Eduardo Camavinga is fit and available to face Atletico Madrid on Sunday after recovering from a knee injury.
The 21-year-old has been out of action since August after sustaining a ligament sprain in his left knee before his side’s UEFA Super Cup victory over Atalanta.
“Camavinga is available, he has trained and recovered well, he is in good condition,” said Ancelotti.
The Italian coach would not be drawn on how long he expects the France international to play should he feature at the Metropolitano Stadium.
Camavinga signed for the club from Rennes in 2021 and played 46 times in all competitions last season as Real won the La Liga title and Champions League.
Defender Dani Carvajal is also available having missed his side’s 3-2 victory over Alaves on Tuesday.
Madrid visit Atletico for the first time since the club filed a complaint with the Spanish legal authorities after Vinicius Jr was subjected to alleged “racist and hateful insults” by Atletico fans in March.
A video on social media appeared to show Atletico supporters chanting a racist slur outside Cívitas Metropolitano before their Champions League game against Inter Milan.

Earlier this week a Mallorca fan was given a suspended prison sentence for racially abusing Vinicius Jr and Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze during two separate games.
Asked if he was concerned whether the Brazilian could be subjected to further abuse on Sunday, Ancelotti said: “I think the justice system is taking measures and decisions, especially this week.
“It’s an issue that we don’t have to worry about, there are other bodies that are aware of this and are concerned about it, as it’s only fair that it happens.”
Madrid are second in La Liga having taken 17 points from their opening seven games of the new season.
They are four points behind league leaders Barcelona and five points ahead of Sunday’s opponents Atletico, who are fourth.
Madrid continue the defence of their Champions League crown against Lille on Wednesday before retuning to league action at home to Villarreal next Saturday.
