Crystal Palace agree €15m deal to sign Ismaila Sarr from Marseille

Crystal Palace have agreed a €15million (£12.6m; $16.3m) deal in principle to sign winger Ismaila Sarr from Marseille.

Personal terms are in place and medical will follow before Sarr completes his proposed move to the Premier League.

The Athletic reported earlier this week that Palace, who were one of a number of clubs that had shown interest in the 26-year-old, had agreed a four-year deal in principle with Sarr.

Palace previously explored the possibility of signing Sarr during his time at Watford.

Palace need to replace Olise – is Sarr the answer?

Sarr began his career at the Generation Foot academy in Senegal before joining FC Metz in France like several prominent Senegalese internationals before him.

He then had spells at Rennes and Watford before joining Marseille in the summer of 2023, going on to score five goals and provide six assists in his 35 games for the club.

A versatile forward, Sarr was deployed on either wing and as a centre-forward during his time with the French club.

Sarr has also scored 13 goals and provided six assists for Senegal, helping his nation win the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

He becomes Palace’s third senior signing of the summer after defender Chadi Riad, who joined from Real Betis, and Japan international midfielder Daichi Kamada following his exit from Lazio.
