Chelsea fan receives three-year ban for performing Nazi salute at Tottenham supporters

A Chelsea supporter has been given a three-year football banning order for performing a Nazi salute towards Tottenham Hotspur fans during November’s Premier League fixture.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the fan was convicted of a racially aggravated public order offence at Thames Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

He was also fined for his actions.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police football unit read: “A Chelsea FC supporter was convicted of a racially aggravated public order offence today at Thames Magistrates Court.

“He was seen performing a Nazi Salute towards Spurs fans during the fixture on 06.11.23. Fined and given a 3 year FBO.”

Chelsea won November’s fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 4-1 thanks to a Nicolas Jackson hat-trick. Spurs finished the game with nine players following the sendings off for Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie.

A football banning order (FBO) is a civil order which prevents an individual from attending football matches for a specified period of time. They can vary in length from two to 10 years.
