The Cleveland Browns and Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah have agreed on a three-year extension worth up to $39 million with $25 million guaranteed, league sources told The Athletic.
Owusu-Koramoah was headed for the final year of his rookie contract. In the spring, he acknowledged that his representatives and the Browns had talks about a new deal but offered no hints about the status of those discussions.
“For me, I’m all about ball,” Owusu-Koramoah said.

Finding the ball is Owusu-Koramoah’s specialty. He’s a quick, instinctual player who’s probably smaller than his listed playing weight of 221. He seemed to take off last year in the attack-first scheme implemented by defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
Owusu-Koramoah was the only player in 2023 to have at least 95 tackles and 20 tackles for loss. He posted career highs last season with 101 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks and two interceptions.
The Browns traded up in the second round of the 2021 draft to get Owusu-Koramoah, who played at Notre Dame. He missed nine games over his first two years due to injury, but he was fully available last season and again figures to be a full-time player for a Browns defense that believes it can be one of the league’s best.
