Trevon Diggs, DaRon Bland and Jourdan Lewis is the trio of cornerbacks the Dallas Cowboys would prefer to have on the field together — Diggs and Bland on the outside and Lewis on the inside.
But injuries have prevented those three from playing together at all this season and very rarely in previous years. Tonight could finally be the time it all comes together.
Bland and Lewis are good to go. Both were full participants in practice all week. Diggs (knee) has been limited after missing the previous two games. He was listed as questionable in last week’s injury report but is active tonight.
“He’s making progress,” Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Saturday. “He had a good day (Saturday).”
McCarthy also said that those three cornerbacks getting work together stood out in Friday’s practice.
“I thought it was clearly one of our best practices of the year,” he added.
The Cowboys need all the help they can get. No quarterback is playing the position at a higher level than Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow is right now.
