Arsenal confirm Mohamed Elneny, Cedric departures

Arsenal have confirmed the departures of Mohamed Elneny and Cedric.

The pair will leave the club upon the expiration of their contracts on June 30.

Elneny, 31, joined Arsenal in 2016 and made 161 appearances for the north London side. However, injuries and falling out favour limited the Egyptian to featuring only 15 times across the last two seasons.

Cedric, 32, initially moved on loan to Arsenal from Southampton in January 2020, before signing a permanent contract as a free agent that summer. The Portuguese played 64 games for Arsenal, amid a six-month loan spell with Fulham in the second half of the 2022-23 season which saw him feature six times.

Arsenal have also confirmed the exits of several youth players, including goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who spent last season on loan at Wrexham in League Two. Tyreece John-Jules, Kido Taylor Hart and Hubert Graczyk will also depart on June 30.

Arsenal added that they remain in talks with winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, goalkeeper Karl Hein and defender Reuell Walters. The Athletic reported last month, though, that Walters is set to depart Arsenal having declined the offer of a new contract.
