These two have seen each other before, with TCU upsetting Notre Dame in November’s Grand Cayman showcase. Hailey Van Lith had 21 points and seven assists in her breakthrough moment as a Frog. After three tremendous Louisville campaigns and a brief downswing at LSU, the fifth-year senior has dramatically boosted a program that hadn’t won a Tournament game since 2006.
Mark Campbell’s crew blew past FDU in the tourney opener, while HVL balled out against her former school in last round’s 15-point defeat of Louisville. When locked in, the offense can border on sensational: TCU shot 64 percent on twos and a video-game-ish 61 percent behind the arc. Senior Sedona Prince cleans up inside at 6-foot-7, and fifth-year Madison Conner is shooting better than 45 percent from 3 on almost eight tries per game.

If you’ve yet to watch the unanimous first-team All-American do her thing — welcome to the party, it’s cracking in here. Fellow honoree Olivia Miles is a saucy jumpshooter and a supremely skilled distributor. Senior Sonia Citron has notched 40 points and made half of her 3s in two tourney tries. Pittsburgh transfer Liatu King had 18 points on perfect 7-for-7 finishes in the Round 2 win over Michigan.
Niele Ivey’s Fighting Irish are trying to reach the Elite Eight for the first time since 2019. The program claimed two national titles in the 21st century under Muffet McGraw’s stewardship. TCU, meanwhile, has never been this far in its 44 Division I seasons.
